Performed by the lovely Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. These things usually sell out pretty quickly so hopefully there are still tickets left!

Monday 6th

Traditions and controversies

Iraqi American art historian, Nada Shabout, discusses issues of tradition, artistic creation, public and private presentation and education. The start time is 6 pm. There’s usually a buffet available at 6 pm and the talk starts at 6.30 pm.

Tuesday 7th

In Conversation: Cai Guo Qiang with Abdelwahed al-Mawlawi

Join a conversation moderated by Qatari artist Abdelwahed al-Mawlawi with Cai Guo Qiang as he discusses his exhibition Cai Guo Qiang: Saraab. The conversation will be in English, with simultaneous translation available. Email to RSVP, space is limited.

Evening Reading Club – French Literature

The evening reading club is for those who do not have the French as their mother tongue. Particpants will talk about Romain Sardou, a successful author of historical thrillers

Friday 10th

Breaking Guinness World Record of Largest Game of Hide & Seek Charity Event

Stenden University are hosting this event at Katara. After the game there’ll be some musical entertainment. All the money collected in this event will go to Qatar Red Crescent.

Teams of up to 6 people can take part. I’ve been to one of these and to be honest, it was a little slow-paced for my impatient Gen-Y self and a lot of the questions had quite a UK slant. So if you’re not short of time and hail from the land of tea and scones definitely give this one a go! P.S. If you’re a healthy eater, eat beforehand!
